Lecture: Maverick's and the Science of Big Waves in San Francisco on Wednesday, October 3, 2007

Got a burning question about Mavs? Ever wanted to ask a scientist face-to-face why the heck Mavericks is so darn big? How about what's going on in the mind of a surfer just as they're looking down the face of that monster? Well, here's your chance.

As part of San Francisco's local Ask A Scientist program, Physical Oceanographer/SFSU Professor of Geosciences Toby Garfield and Mavs surfer/filmmaker Grant Washburn will be on hand on Wed., Oct. 3rd, at 7:00 P.M. at Axis Cafe (1201 8th Street (between 16th St. and Irwin in Poterero Hill) to answer those very questions.

So come learn about stuff you wanted to learn in school but didn't. No tests. No grades. And you can even fall asleep in the back, we don't care.

This presentation is in colloaboration with KQED's Quest program.
