Oil Spill Beach Closure Update on Thursday, November 15, 2007

More beaches are closed today due to last week's oil spill in San Francisco Bay. All of Ocean Beach is closed from the Cliff House to Fort Funston. Beaches in Pacifica, including Linda Mar were closed on Wed., Nov. 14th. Marin County beaches continue to be closed.

One source has told SurfPulse that oil washed up on Montara on Wed., Nov. 14th and that birds coated with oil were spotted near Princeton Harbor in Half Moon Bay.

SurfPulse strongly advises not swimming in local waters at this time, even at beaches not closed, until water quality tests are posted as safe for swimming.
