Shark Attack at Marina State Beach on Tuesday, August 28, 2007

A surfer, Todd Endris, was attacked by a shark today at Marina State Beach, south of Moss Landing. He has undergone surgery for lacerations to his torso and right thigh after being airlifted to a hospital in Santa Clara. One unconfirmed report from a witness that it was a great white shark approximately 20 feet long. Due to the attack, state officials have closed 15 miles of beach from Monterey State Beach to Moss Landing.
