Fatal Shark Attack in San Diego on Friday, April 25, 2008

On Fri., April 25th, about 150 yards off Solana Beach in San Diego County, a 66-year old man, training for a triathlon while open-water swimming, was attacked and mortally wounded by a shark, suspected to be a Great White, estimated at 12-17 feet in length. This was the first fatal shark attack in San Diego County since 1994.
