Rasta’s “Minds in the Water” at the SF Green Film Fest on Sunday, March 4, 2012

The 2nd annual San Francisco Green Film Festival will screen Dave Rastovichs’ long-awaited MINDS IN THE WATER, with director Justin Krumb and producer Jonny Vasic as well as several surfer guests in attendance (including 2011 Brower Youth Award winner, Kyle Thiermann) on Sunday, March 4th at 7pm at the SF Film Society Cinema in Japantown.

This beautiful documentary chronicles professional surfer Dave Rastovich’s path to cetacean protection. Rasta’s latest campaign – a 660km sailing expedition along Australia’s Gold Coast – provides the backdrop for this evolution. His quest to gather support from professional surfers, seek guidance from Sea Shepherd’s Paul Watson, and visit with California’s first coastal tribe, leads to a showdown in Taiji, Japan, made notorious in THE COVE.
